Whenever you need to create a video presentation or just run a live presentation of a certain application, using a projector or your laptop screen, you need to make sure that the audience can watch your mouse movement or the key combination used for activating certain program features and options. This may not be possible if you are using a small screen or a poor quality projector. Still, using state-of-the-art equipment for presenting applications doesn't necessarily mean that the audience will follow you completely.

For fixing this problem, you could use the PointerFocus application, a Windows program which highlights your mouse cursor, covering it with a yellow circle, but also displaying any key combination. Thus, anyone will be able to watch your mouse movement or shortcut keys more efficiently and the presentation will be better understood.

After the program is installed and launched, the user will be able to activate the mouse cursor highlight and the key combination display by using hot keys. Besides that, PointerFocus can also allow you to write on your desktop directly and make various annotations. There is also a magnifying option available, which allows anyone to view various details from your presentation more clearly.

By accessing the options section of PointerFocus, the user will be able to customize the highlighting color for the mouse cursor, and also customize the program's functionality, like modifying the magnifier's zoom level. In case the user doesn't have a remote control for the laptop he is using for running the presentation, he can use the special Android application which allows controlling PointerFocus from any Android-enabled smartphone.

Pros

It can highlight the mouse cursor and also display pressed hot keys, allowing you to run presentations more efficiently. Besides that, it allows you to write and make annotations directly on your desktop. Furthermore, the highlighting color and the magnifier's zoom level can be easily modified from the options area.

Cons

The options section may require some time for the user to get used to it. PointerFocus allows you to run any presentation more efficiently, by highlighting the mouse cursor and displaying pressed shortcut keys.
